Here at Beautyview we always want to know about your experiences with local beauty salons and services. We also want to ensure the Beautyview directory is a trustworthy source of information for both customers and businesses. To help us with this, and to get your review published as quickly as possible, please make sure your reviews follow our guidelines. All reviews will be subject to approval by Beautyview to ensure we do not display any offensive or inappropriate content. We won't censor your feedback, but we won’t approve reviews that break our guidelines.
Here are some questions to consider:
1. WHAT CAN I INCLUDE IN MY REVIEWS?
We want honest and accurate feedback on your experience – just make sure it’s yours! Reviews should only contain original information and nothing copied or quoted from other websites (that includes reviews you may have submitted elsewhere). We accept all reviews – positive or negative – as long as they are honest, authentic and written by the customer who had first-hand experience with the business.
People love reading reviews that are helpful, interesting and funny. Be sure to provide as much detail and additional information as possible – this will make your review more likely to be accepted.
2. HOW SHOULD I WRITE A REVIEW?
The most important point to remember when writing your review is to be objective. Customers searching for a local beauty salon want to hear your honest opinion on the business you’ve patronised. We maintain a friendly environment at Beautyview, so ensure your reviews follow our guidelines and, in particular, contain information that is relevant to fellow beauty enthusiasts.
Consider organising your review on a timeline, from contacting the business to making a booking and then visiting the salon. Highlight key moments that occurred during your experience, and offer insight into what you enjoyed about the salon. You don’t have to write dozens of paragraphs, but all reviews should be concise and informative.
3. WHY WAS MY REVIEW REJECTED?
The Beautyview moderation team are experts at spotting fake or offensive reviews, and we will reject anything that doesn’t comply with our guidelines.
To ensure your review is not rejected, bear in mind the following points that will flag your review:
Not based on the customer’s genuine experience.
Contains derogatory or offensive language.
Includes second-hand information, implying the reviewer was not the actual customer.
Clearly written by the business owner or employee.
Written in a language other than English.
Contains repeated or plagiarised information.
4. CAN I REPORT A FALSE OR OFFENSIVE REVIEW?
Yes! Beautyview relies on community engagement in order to publish and curate engaging and factual reviews. We endorse a positive, friendly atmosphere for our businesses and customers, and factual reviews are key to maintaining quality information about Australia’s beauty salons.
Whether you are a business owner or customer, if you spot a review you believe is false or offensive in nature, you can flag the review and the Beautyview team will investigate your claim.
5. WHAT HAPPENS IF A FALSE REVIEW IS PUBLISHED?
We take every effort to make sure false or offensive reviews are not published. However, on the rare chance that such a review slips between the cracks you can flag the review for investigation. Once a review is flagged, the Beautyview team will investigate the claim. If the content does not meet our guidelines, the review will be removed and further steps will be taken to ensure the reviewer does not repeat his/her actions. This may include a first warning, suspension or further action subject to Beautyview’s discretion.
6. WHAT HAPPENS IF A SALON RESPONDS NEGATIVELY TO MY REVIEW?
While every business would love to receive only positive reviews, there are times when customers may receive an unsatisfactory experience. If you leave a negative review and it is accurate and inoffensive, Beautyview will absolutely publish it. However, if the business responds and their approach is overly negative or even threatening, you can contact Beautyview and we will step in to resolve the issue. This may include removal of the business’s reply, a suspension for that particular business or potentially further action subject to Beautyview’s discretion.
7. SOMEONE IS POSTING FALSE INFORMATION IN AN ATTEMPT TO BLACKMAIL MY BUSINESS.
WHAT CAN I DO?
If you believe customers are publishing false reviews or, worse, contacting you directly in order to gain free business in exchange for positive reviews, contact Beautyview immediately. We take every effort to protect the businesses that list with us, and we will ensure those customers are banned from posting reviews on our directory.
8. HOW SHOULD I RESPOND TO CUSTOMER REVIEWS?
When responding to positive reviews, customers appreciate a personal touch. Acknowledge that you have read their review and are grateful for their feedback. This lets other customers know that you value feedback and it encourages them to leave a positive review as well.
In the case of a negative review, the first step is to not take it personally. Even the best salons have customers who will find something to complain about. Always stay calm and be polite when responding, and exercise objectivity over emotion in order to understand the customer’s feedback. If you are able to fix the issue, take the opportunity to retain their business and potentially win new customers. But even if that is impossible, it is vital that you avoid blaming the customer and instead do as much as possible to resolve the situation amicably.
